Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20980
Text does not flow to last linked frame if it is on previous page.
Last modified: 2004-03-26 09:42:06 UTC
Using four frames on two pages that are linked together in a certain order, the text will not flow into the last frame if the last frame is on the first page. Details: This is easy to reproduce if not easy to follow. I was making a 4-page booklet so that a single 8.5 x 11 sheet printed on both sides can be folded in half so that it will read like a book. To accompish this, I used four frames, two each, on two "pages" in OO. From left-to-right page 1: frame1, frame 2; page 2: frame 3, frame 4. They are linked in the following order: frame2->frame3->frame4->frame1. Cut and paste a long enough piece of text into frame2 and you will find the text does not flow into the final frame (frame1). However, if you create a third page, place a frame there (say frame5) and make that frame the final frame instead of frame1 it works fine. I have an example document that I can provide if you would like.

Hi ah1270, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice... I opened your document using OOo1.1.0 680m17(Build: 8720), which is a developer build!. On the third frame i entered a new line after the last line and it was inserted in frame 4 on the first page... It worked... Please be patient, I think it will be implemented in one of the next versions... reassigned to mci
set to worksforme
.
Hi ah1270, src680... is the development tree for OO 2.0 ==> this feature will work in OOo2.0... I'll close this Issue for now, please reopen this Issue if this doesn't work in OOo2.0... thanks
