Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20966
Image embedded in DOCis shown compressed in width
Last modified: 2004-04-27 10:44:32 UTC
I received, via e-mail, a document that contained a screen dump image. When viewed through Word (I am using Word 2002, SP-2 - part of Office XP I think) the image was fine. When I loaded the document into OOo 1.1 the image was compressed to half its width, but was still full height, and to its right, same height as the image, was a black area with "OFFICE 2000 MACHINE" in it. Is this a feature of OOo, or is it something that Microsoft has put into images on Word to foil OOo?
reassigned to mru
.
Maybe the picture is an OLE Object which has "cropped" content. Writer's OLE objects do not support this (this will be implemented for OO 2.0). But for full evaluation of the problem, it would be nice, if you could attach the offending file to this issue (or send it to mru@openoffice.org, for the case it contains confidential data). Otherwise we won't be able to reproduce the problem here. Feel free to re-open the issue when you've done so. Thanks for supporting us!
