Description Unknown 2003-10-09 15:57:25 UTC
I have been using OpenOffice.Org very successfully in preparation
for the demise of my MS Office 2000 suite, which is not affordable
for my one-man business. I like the progams and have had virtually
no snags at all – it really is a Godsend : however:-

I have recently put together and Presented a large Impress (2.6 MB)
package which included a 'Calc' plot reproduced on a number of slides
with boxes superimposed on the plot representing the operating envelopes
for various hydraulic components through a range of conditions.
A small extract from this package is attached see YA84-B3.sxi.
Out-of-the-blue when it was becoming quite large, some of my 'Calc' plots
changed into different plots which appeared to have no relation to
the original. You can see these on Slides 1-3 of YA84-B3.sxi, Slide 4
hosever has not changed and is still the correct original version (at
least it was when I displayed it just now!). An additional but minor
problem I encountered earlier was movement of the superiposed
boxes in relation to the CalcChart beneath : each time when displayed
they had moved just a millimetre or so, which spoiled the accuracy of
my presentations.

To get over this I went back to Excel and Powerpoint, finding that the
MS text boxes hold slightly less text per line than OpenOffice boxes
(this problem arises when going from Word to OO-Write also), but
that was easily amended. Both the above problems were now OK
and after some anxious days the work was completed – see the
attached file YA84-B3.ppt. However I had to use PPViewer to
present it with my Laptop, rather than Impress which I would have
preferred, just in case the problem jumped out at me half-way through!.

Where did the mystery charts come from, and is this a bug?

Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test
it/faster to confirm.
(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more
time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is
small, but we still able to see the problem.

Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1 Final , you can download it
from www.openoffice.org
many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1 Final . If
the problem still happend in 1.1 please report back
It maybe not yet solve your Issue, but it worth to try.

Hello,
thanks for posting the files again. Yes, the .sxi file looks terrible.
But since you work on an old 1.0.3 I would suggest to update to a
current version OO1.1. I opened the ppt file of yours in this current
version and it looked much, much better. The bug is fixed there. If
you are still disappointed with the result please feel free to reopen
this issue or write a new one. Thanks for your help.
Hope this helps!
