Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20892
Ability to change font sizes for all selected text on an individual slide "on the fly"
Last modified: 2010-02-10 19:57:04 UTC
Sometimes I need to change the font sizes for all selected text on an individual slide, decreasing the size when the text won't fit in the slide or increasing it when there is too little text and too much blank space. OOo 1.1 does this by selecting "fit text to frame." Powerpoint, however, offers a more elegant and easier to use solution. Powerpoint has two buttons, font size incease and font size decrease. Clicking on one of these buttons changes the font size for all selected text keeping the relative font sizes (i.e., if the font size in level 2 is smaller than the font size in level 1, it remains smaller). Hope this makes sense and that this feature can be added. Thanks.
Reassigned to Bettina.

A presentation appears not consistently if the font size of the text field on different pages varied from slide to slide. Impress is a supporting presentation tool. It should not replace the speaker. It should support him. But if there is a need for different font sizes on some slides, it is the best way to create a new style for this text. Then there are not - maybe five, six or more - different font sizes for text fields and the presentation seemed not to be created by a newby.
