Description Unknown 2003-10-08 14:02:06 UTC
I am running Microsoft Windows 2000 Pro [Version 5.00.2195] (SP3), MySQL
4.0.15-nt, myODBC 03.51, and there is a bug. The SQL server works fine in
Apache, and via the command line. OOo works (damn) fine too!

The issue is that when I connect to a datasource via ODBC, and the myODBC
driver, everything works fine as I connect. (Before I set a password it worked
the same, as after I set a password on root). The next step shows me the
datasources, the standard one, Bibliography, and my new one. On neither one can
I see the tables!

I can create a new table, and it appears. I can confirm that it actually created
the files via explorer, and PHPMyAdmin. After I do anything, however, it
dissappears from the OOo datasource view. I also cannot see other tables that
already exist in that database (there are 4 others).

Once I have created the new database from within OOo, I can, briefly, open it,
but I cannot see any column headers/names in the design view. Nor can any data
be entered into an empty database, as the boxes are not there to type into.

I have tried this using both no root password for MySQL, and with, both times as
root, and I tried dropping back to ODBC 2.5, but that didn't work at all.

I didn't see this in the bug tracker, but there were a few similar ones.

I also tried the same thing on Win98, with RC3, and had a very similar problem.
I then updated it to 1.1.0, and confirmed the problem was still there.

asking how to tell a little more precisely which version of OOo was
installed.)

Build 8687, btw.

correcting sub component (see
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/describecomponents.cgi?component=Database%20access,
please), and default owner

soapy, perhaps you can provide an ODBC log and attach it to this bug
(zippped!), this *may* help tracking the problem.

Hi,

As you wrote in your first long description you can't see tables in
any datasource.

No tables are displayed in the datasource Bibliography.

New tables with are created in the datasource Bibliography disappear
in the view when you reopen the datasource.

Is this right?

If yes I can't reproduce this. I can see table in my Bibliography
datasource and new tables are displayed too.

So I set this issue to worksforme.
However fell free to reopen this issue, if it still occurr.

Thanks for supporting the community.
Bye Marc
