Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20599
Function to delete all index entries from the document
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:33:31 UTC
Index entries can't be deleted all at the time. This must be donne onhe by one. Thisa is very annoying. Proposal: add 2 buttons in the Edit entry dialog. [Delete all similar entries] [ Delete all entries ] An "Are you sure?" warning should pop-up on pressing the second button.
I too want this feature. I created the usre guide that is currently in the doc project and discovered that I hae botched the index. Removing index entries one-by-one is painful in a near 500 page document.
Especially when using a concordance file and changing options like case sensitive or word only there MUST be an option to remove existing index entries first.
Is incredible that there is no way to remove all index entries in a single operation! When I use MS Word: With the XE fields displayed, use the replace function to replace ^d XE with nothing or ^19 with nothing. Proposal (Without changing the UI) Delete all similar entries = CTRL + ALT + click button [Delete] Delete all entries = CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + click button [Delete] You can not go on like this: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=55770 bye.
Please, see my commentary on the issue 61778 An option to export/sync the concordance file could be a solution.
In my opinion, is a related issue 61643 (Advanced editing). Proposal: add 3 buttons in the Edit entry dialog. [Delete all similar entries] [ Delete all entries ] [ OK to similar entries ]
