Description Unknown 2003-10-02 05:37:10 UTC
Attached is the screenshot about the bug when using the Windows / Freeze menu
which result in problem for linking from other worksheet.

From the screenshot, example for cell Q55 & Q57 shows that after enabling the
Windows/Freeze function, the formula to link from other worksheet shows only the
equal (=) sign, it just would not link.

However, if the Windows/Freeze is not enabled, the linking can be done as shown
on cell Q56.

Appreciate if this problem can be fixed.

Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test
it/faster to confirm.
(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more
time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is
small, but we still able to see the problem.

Worksheet Linking Bug Spreadsheet File
Comment 4 Unknown 2003-10-07 12:21:16 UTC
I have submitted a sample spreadsheet file created using OOo1.1RC5
running under Linux. Even though I started with no data, the error
still appears as "=" appears, which I believe is the bug.

Thank you for looking into this problem.

Hi,

nice to have the document, but a look into the content.xml reveals
that where are only equal signs in cells K22:K23, K25.

So please give us a step by step description about what you want to
achieve.

Frank

Step by step of what I want to achieve? Simple, I want to link values
from other worksheet, but I only got this "=" sign as shown on my
screenshot (or examples provided) after using this Windows/Freeze
functions.

Ok, this doesn't help at all !

maybe I was a little un-precise !

What I need is a description about what you are doing !

e.g. :

0. Open Spreadsheet
1. Entering Value
...

and so on.

Sorry Frank, I may have misunderstand your question since English is
not my native language.

Hope the step given below is sufficient for you to analyse the problem:

1. Open OOo1.1RC5 spreadsheet application (running under Mandrake
Linux 9.1).
2. Save the file as example.sxc
3. In Sheet2, a string value 10 is typed in cell location A1.
4. Click on Sheet1.
5. Click on cell location E15 in Sheet1.
4. Click on Window menu.
5. Click on Freeze menu.
6. In cell location Sheet1.E15, to link the value of 10 from
Sheet2.A1, I type = and click tab Sheet2 and click cell location A1
and press Enter.
7. After pressing Enter key, I only got string = instead of value 10.
8. In cell location Sheet1.E16, I repeat step 6, again I got the string =.
9. In cell location Sheet1.G16, I repeat step 6, but this time it is
correct, I got the value 10.
10. I repeat the above step again using new file and I get the same
result as I have mentioned above.

Next, I tried the step mentioned above using OOo1.1RC5 spreadsheet
application running under Windows 98SE.

The same goes for step 1 to 8, but in step 9, I got the string =
again. After that, in cell location Sheet1.G17, I repeat step 6 and
the result is correct, it got the value 10.

Is it a bug?

Thanks,
Jalil

Sorry for the step numbering typo error, it should be step 1 to 12
instead 1-10.

Hi Niklas,

I think it's a double but could not find it.

Nevertheless I can reproduce it.

Sorry,

wrong target for not a double. Workload for 1.1.1 to high, so changing
to 2.0.
