Tools - Options - Load/Save - Microsoft Office - I have set MathType to
OpenOffice.org Math /  OpenOffice.org Math to MathType both for Load and Save.

I prepare a Writer document containing the following formula:
t = left lfloor {{n-k} over {2}} right rfloor

I save the document as a .doc msword file.  If the .doc is opened with
msword and the equation is opened (with double-clicking) and then closed
(single-clicking outside) without any change, the left lfloor
and right rfloor symbols disappear.

Maybe, the export filter should map the left lfloor and right rfloor
symbols differently, to obtain symbols correctly handled by the microsoft
equation editor.

round bracket characters.
