Description pratesi 2003-09-28 17:25:37 UTC
I attach a 9-slides Impress document prepared on Mandrake Linux 9.1
and the file obtained exporting to mspowerpoint.
Opening the .ppt attachment with mspowerpoint, the problem mentioned
in the subject can be easily evidenced.
The problem is observed also on the notes: look at notes on the slides
entitled "Look also at the notes" (My Slide 22 - 26).

Please explain more info step by step.
in which slide and which text.

I try to open the ppt file in MS Office XP and in OOo 1.1 RC5, and it
look like same. except some symbol which is not available in Powerpoint
Comment 5 pratesi 2003-09-30 10:38:03 UTC
Can you attach an export as PDF (or in another format) to let me know
how it looks for you in mspowerpoint?
On the installation where I have performed the test, I have hit
just many problems like mentioned in the subject.
If you need, I can prepare some screenshots to evidence the problem,
just let me know.

In the following, I report some of the differences that
have been found.

My Slide 3: “AWGN = Additive White Gaussian Noise” is bold
in the .ppt, whereas, in the .sxi, only “AWGN” is bold.

My Slide 5: “Multipath -> quick phase variation -> problems
for phase demodulators” is bold in the .ppt, whereas it is not
in the .sxi.

My Slide 6: all the slide is bold in the .ppt, whereas only
underlined words are bold in the .sxi.

My Slide 11, “Carson's rule”: all the line is bold in the .ppt,
whereas only underlined words are bold in the .sxi.

My Slide 22: in the .sxi there are no italic chars, whereas,
after the dotted list, all the text is italic in the .ppt
(something similar happens for My Slide 23-26); also the notes
are italic in the .ppt, whereas they are not in the .sxi;
the same happens for notes on the subsequent slides, whereas,
in the .sxi notes, only “titles” are italic.

Set to new and change the target
Comment 8 christian.guenther 2003-10-21 12:10:58 UTC
I can reproduce the bug with the attached document but I can't
reproduce it with an own document.
Please have a look.
Comment 9 rick_jenkins 2004-02-12 21:51:47 UTC
This bug is demonstrable in a text document. In the attached file, the text
following the eps image always appears as italic, and prints as italic,
regardless of the settings.
Comment 10 christian.guenther 2004-04-27 11:12:03 UTC
I change the target

Tested with OOo 2.0.2, WinXP.

Can confirm Issue still exists.

I can reproduce the bug with OOo2.2 on Windows XP SP2.

Scianrio:
1.Create new empty presentation.
2.Select layout of [title, text].
3.Input some text.
4.Set bold and italic
5.Cancel bold and italic by format tool bar
6.Save to the PPT file.
7.Open the PPT file by PowerPoint
=> It is bold and italic
