Description shemgp 2003-09-26 03:37:41 UTC
Chaning the page number field's offset into a number not equal to zero results
to a blank page number field; no numbers. Tested in winXp home (upgrade from
oo 1.0.3.1) and winMe (fresh install).

replicate:
1. create new document
2. insert->fields->page number
3. double-click inserted field to change offset
4. change offset to any number not equal to zero
Comment 1 jack.warchold 2003-09-29 17:38:38 UTC
changed version to OOo1.1RC5
changed status to new
reassigned to ufi

please change the helpcontent to make clear that this offset is just
for the real pagecount in the document.

@shemgp: this offset just handles the real amount of pages in the
docuemt if you got 1 page and set an offset of +1 the field is empty,
if you have a document with two pages and set an offset of 1 the
firstpage gots the number 2 and the second is empty.
Staroffice behaves like this since it exists, maybe there will be a
change in a later version.

Comment 3 Uwe Fischer 2003-09-30 07:37:21 UTC
works as designed.
The help says:
If you want, you can enter an Offset for the displayed page number.
With an Offset value of 1, the field will display a number that is 1
more than the current page number, but only if a page with that number
exists. On the last page of the document, this same field will be empty.
