Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19936
Inconsistent indent after nembered autoformat
Last modified: 2004-03-24 15:00:53 UTC
This big big bug can be reproduced simply. 1/ Open new text documnet 2/ Type text: 1. test text 3/ Press Enter. (Now It's will be autoformated as numbered list and also intended) 4/ Press BackSpace. (Now numbering is canceled on current line, but line is intended) 5/ Type some other text. And look on text and margin set. It's inconsistend and this intedndation cant'n be corrected by simple way. Next pressing BackSpace on start of line causes joining this and previous line. I'thing it's a big bug.

There's no bug here. Pressing backspace in your step 4 removes the numbering symbol but keeps the paragraph inside of the numbering. It's now an unnumbered entry. So it's correct that the text is indented but the ruler doesn't show it. If you want to stop the numbering after step 3 simply press Return.
I have one owerkill solution for this problem: If you stay on starting line of paragraph, where margin not corresponding with facts, press successively Up arrow, End, Enter, BackSpace, Enter, Delete. It's simple, isn't? I think bug is in set of margins after autoformat. It's must be set to correct place (real size of text arrea).
This solution I know, but bug I see in incorrect set of margins. It's not crrespondig with real margins of text an now I have text what formated by unpredictable behavior. It's mess.
I guess you get what you want if you press return instead of BackSpace. In fact there is no defect here. All works as designed.
