Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
We have created a document in Word 97 and when opened in OOo, the formatting is incorrect. The document contains pictures and logos. I will include a copy of the file with this report.
Created attachment 9583 [details] The file in question.
reassigned to mru can you please take a look at this issue?
MRU->AMA: There's a graphic, which should be placed to the right of the textframes. The position is calculated from the top of the second column, but it should be from the bottom, where the paragraph (the graphic is anchored to) really starts. Writer calculates from top, because the paragraph area is extended together with the frame which has "no wrap". A compatibility mode is needed. This might be similar to issue 14695.
OD (24.09.2003): accepted. This isn't a very well layouted document - it will be a challenge to layout it as MS Word does. But first, our planned adjustments 'negative positions', 'following text flow or leave environment', 'position vertical aligned at page', etc. have to be implemented for our writer fly frames and drawing objects. Then, we will have a further look.
I figuring out the following problems: (1) The minimum page footer height in Writer is 0,5cm - in the given Microsoft Word document the page footer seems to be of a smaller height. Because of this the first paragraph isn't formatted correctly. Thus, the position of the objects isn't the same as in Microsoft Word. (2) Wrapping of text around negative positioned objects isn't implemented yet in Writer.
Fix in progress in cws swobjpos04. ad (1): The minimum page header/footer height will be adjusted to 0,1cm ad (2): Wrapping of text around negative positioned will be implemented by issue #28701
fixed cws swobjpos04 by issue #27349
