Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19919
Line missing on printout but present in Print Preview
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:45 UTC
We have a document that was created in OOo 1.1 RC4 and when viewed in "Page Preview", it shows a solid line across the top in the header, underneath "Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association" and the page count and total. The file was saved as a Word 97/2000/XP file. When the document is printed, the solid line is missing. I tried from 1 x Win2K workstation and the line was missing on page 1, but it was present on page 2. I then loaded the same file from another Win2K workstation with and it printed on Page 1, but not Page 2! The printer used was a networked HP LaserJet 4000 with an HP jetDirect card, PCL6 drivers and HP Network Printer Wizard v2.01 software. I also tried to print it on an HP LaserJet 4 Plus, that was attached to a Red Hat 9 print server using CUPS and the default Red Hat 9 driver, and the line was present on page 1, but missing on page 2. If you need any more information re: printing systems, please let me know and I will be able to supply what you need. I will enclose a copy of the file with this report.

Same problem occurs in 1.1.0 on Linux. Page preview shows both lines, but after printing to generic postscript, only the line on Page 1 was displayed.
set target to OOo Later reassigned to mru
MRU->HI: Import is o.k. Seems like a printing problem.
HI->PL: I get no underline of the second page, neither with Windows nor with Linux.
pl->hdu: you're working on that, aren't you ?
set target to OOo2.0
HDU->AMA: PL+me analyzed the the problem with the bugdoc. The line on the second page just isn't printed. It is missing in both PS and PCL printer files and on UNX and WIN platforms. The problematic line is interesting. When you change the line on the second page to e.g. make it wide and colored the corresponding line on the first page gets the same changes automatically. The line on the first page is printed and the line on the second is ommited.
It's not a trick. If you change the content of the header at page 2 you'll get the same header at page 1 (if you've the same page style). But of course it has to be printed at every page, that's the bug.
OD (09.10.2003): accepted. Proposed fix: correct consideration of virtual drawing objects, which are used, if a drawing object is anchored inside pagea header/footer, in method <SwFlyFrm::IsPaint(..)>
OD->MRU (10.10.2003): Please set target to OOo 1.1.1
Yes, I fully agree, this should of course be fixed for OO 1.1.1.
OD (10.10.2003): Thx, accepted.
OD (13.10.2003): Changed files in cws sw7pp1b: /sw/source/core/layout/paintfrm.cxx, 1.69.152.1 /sw/source/core/draw/dcontact.cxx, 1.19.52.1.26.2
OD->MRU: Checked in internal product patch build of cws sw7pp1b. Please verify.
Checked fix with CWS sw7pp1b.
Verified. Fix will be included in OO 1.1.1.
