Description dankelley 2003-09-21 23:39:15 UTC
The transparent portions of images are converted to opaque white, when exported
to PDF.

This has been tested on PNG images; I could do further tests, and post a sample
file, if it would help.

Platform: Linux/redhat-9, fully updated daily, with OO1.1RC4.

Reproducible in a current internal version.
Comment 2 wolframgarten 2003-09-22 07:58:27 UTC
Reassigned to Sven.

SJ->WG: Is this a linux only problem, or does it happen on other
platforms also ?

Hello dankelley,
is it possible that you use a too old version of Acrobat reader?
Version 4 does not show transparency on my system, version 5 does. Thanks.

The transparency error occurs with acroread, xpdf, and gv. (Versions
below). The attachments show this. Thanks for looking into this.

[kelley@Limit demo]$ rpm -q acroread
acroread-4.05-6
[kelley@Limit demo]$ rpm -q xpdf
xpdf-2.01-11
[kelley@Limit demo]$ rpm -q gv
gv-3.5.8-22

Sorry that the last 3 posting are in a weird order. The interface is
a bit confusing, since adding an attachment to an uncommitted message
deletes the message :-)

Hello,
your delivered bug docs look absolutely similar under windows with an
acrobat version 5.0.
From your posting I can see that your version is a 4.05-6 (mine is
4.05-30 under linux, which shows the white areas arround the
graphics, too). So this seems to be an error of the early acrobat
versions and no bug of OO. Thanks for your help.
