Description settantta 2003-09-20 08:15:48 UTC
When saving a document for the first time, a series of error messages are
generated. The messages all relate to "Loading BASIC of document..." URL given
is 'usr/local/OpenOffice.org 1.1/share.....' which does not exist.

Second and subsequent saves are message free.

This is actually a regression, last time I saw it was in 1.1Beta. Work-around is
simple, just create a symlink to /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.1.0 named
"usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.1" and the problem vanishes.

I'm assigning priority 2 as I feel it is a showstopper otherwise, and needs to
be fixed for the 1.1 final.

I can not reproduce. Can you you give more details? What document? How
to reproduce?

Alex: I cannot confirm (unfortunately, you confirmed your own issue).

I get no errors at all when saving a document the first time.
Could ou pleas clearify, how did you install RC4 and how did you come
to such a missing path?
I did a regular multiuser / workstation setup, using my own paths
(/opt/OpenOffice.org/1.1, ~/.settings/OpenOffice.org/1.1/). This was a
clean install.

And is there any relationship to BASIC? Do you have macros in your file?

I use a template for my occasional taxidriving. I create a new
spreadsheet from teh tempplate, enter some figures, and save. After
giving it a name, and clicking the save button, I get an error dialog
which reads essentially the same. I'll attach a file from teh
template, and a screenshot of teh first error message. The following 8
or so messages are virtually identical, just the filename it is
seeking is different.....

Just counted them... There are 19 separate error messages, all
essentially the same as the screenshots.... This might be specific to
Linux.

Install was using the supplied install script, accepting default
paths. Workstaion install was standard, default paths also.

Just made me think, perhaps an error in the install script? Unlikely,
as it installed to /usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.1.0....

Your install path seems different to mine in one crucial aspect, it
ends in .../OpenOffice.org1.1 whereas mine is 1.1.0 This seems to be
the cause of it.

BTW, I never confirmed the issue, just entered it and left it as
UNCONFIRMED.

Hi,
I have not seen this.

Can someone please try to recreate this using a completely "clean install to a new
localtion" using "setup -net" and not "install --prefix=/usr/local" just to make sure that
any problem is not related to the "install" script.? Also make sure an "upgrade"
installation was NOT done (just to be safe) side.

Also, we should make sure you do not have two OpenOffice.org* directories in your
home directory that could be confused, please do the following:

1. does $HOME/OpenOffice.org1.1 exists

2. does $HOME/OpenOffice.org1.1.0 exists

3. what exactly does your $HOME/.sversionrc file say
(please attach your $HOME/.sversionrc file to this issue).

Thanks,

Kevin

I installed RC5 last nigh, no more problems. It is safe to say that
the issue is fixed in RC5, so I'll cose it out as WORKSFORME...
