Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19738
View -> Master -> Drawing and View -> Master -> Notes clear Slide checkbox
Last modified: 2003-09-18 12:21:13 UTC
When changing between different views through the menu, if drawing or notes views are selected, "Slide" is automagically unchecked, so one has to check it again if wanting to see the slides. I think this might cause confusion. It doesn't happens with "Handout" view. Reproduce: (1) Create new presentation (2) Write something in it (3) change to view -> master -> notes (4) you need to check "Slide" if wanting to see what you wrote (5) change back to view -> master -> drawing (4) you need to check "Slide" if wanting to see what you wrote Thanks in advance, Albert
When you change to notes-view using View/master/notes-view you are in the master of the notes view. This is pretty the same as changing in the master view from the normal drawing view. The master-notes-view is only for arranging the basic look of the notes view (size and position of boxes). When you check "slide" you get back to the normal (not master!) notes view and you can see what you wrote. So you have two: master notes view and slide notes view. With handout it is a little bit different: there is only a master that shows the first 4 slides of a presentation. Hope this helps. Thanks for your posting!

Sorry, I should have double-checked it. Is it possible to add adding the buttons for workspace -> Outline view and Handout view I see that you can configure the bar so that you can add this, but there is no button. Are you thinking about adding them above the "Slide Show", so people coming from MS-ppt would identify it rapidly. If you could point me to the place in the code/ui where I should look at, I would gladly do it myself. Thanks in advance, Bests, Albert
No problem. But you do not need to add these buttons by coding. Please have a look at the upper right corner of the drawing area, right above the vertical scrollbar: there are 6 small buttons that let you jump right into the view you want. Hope this is what you wanted! Have fun.
