Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19620
Printing a doc makes OOo think it is modified
Last modified: 2004-03-18 15:29:52 UTC
Every time I open a document, print it (without modifying it!), and press "Close", I get the "The document 'docname.ext' has been modified. Do you want to save your changes?" dialog box. Lars Kyllingstad
is this happend with all files, or only specific files ? do you use specific setting in the documents ? if specific, can you please upload the documents please. so we can check and confirm it
TM->HI: Please have a look. As far as I know, when printing, the document is being edited for the printer and so it is somehow changed. Every other larger application, running under Win, acts the same way. So this issue may be invalid.
I didnt got this warning when I print text or calc file. if it is true, OOo must be smart enough to know it is "edited" by print function, so it didnt ask for saving again. people can think it is virus or something like that
This happens every time I print a document right after saving or opening it. I don't know what specific settings you mean, but as far as I can remember, I haven't changed any document settings from their defaults.
It's a feature. You can tell OOo not to do so. Go to Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - General. In "Document status" uncheck the checkbox "Printing sets 'document modified' status". kind regards Regina
Yes, that fixed it. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for the help. -Lars
