Description dalo 2003-09-14 01:27:56 UTC
1 main document with 1st page: style 1 st page, and all the rest are normal page
styles.

first page fills section 1 completely: from a linked document section
rest of the pages are also sections with different linked documents on them
(larger files)
together 55+ pages

1st page style will not be saved (definitely assigned to the page). every time i
open the master document, i have to reset the 1st page from normal to 1st page
style.

This happens only if I click YES on the "Refresh new links" dialog box
while opening.

Could the page style of the linked file be interfering with the main
page's page style ?

I have had the same problem for several updates. It's worse when all
the text is in separate files (then no styles in the template can be
used -- every page is "default" style and attempting to change it does
not work). Sometimes (especially if there are many page styles)
correcting one page style causes problems in all preceding page
styles. The problems are that the program seems to set page styles
based on some internal illogic.

Added sample files:

The main document remains ok on the page style side as long as you do
not answer yes on the refresh all links dialog.

Refresh all links= yes wil kill the first page style set on the main
document.

The page style on the linkes document is ignored.

(to let the samples work it's the first page section link has to be
pointed to the first page document on your local filesystem)

A workaround is to insert a (small) paragraph at the top of the first
page before the first linked section. Now you're able to choose the
page style and it works even you update all links.

Problem reconfirmed and retested on OOo 1.1.2
