Description Unknown 2001-10-19 11:20:14 UTC
If the status bar is hidden it will be shown again if a writer file is saved.
In the view menu the status bar option stays disabled though. So you can't even
hide it then again. Thank you.

This is to confirm that this happens in Linux as well. Below are the
exact steps to repeat the problem. Note that the problem is the status
bar displays the "Saving..." progress bar then doesn't rehide the
status bar. If you save as a text file you don't have the problem
since the progress bar isn't displayed.

(1) Open a new writer window.
(2) Hide the status bar.
(3) Type some text into the document, then File->Save
(4) Save the file as temp_junk_file
(5) Observe the progress bar appears and the status bar is visible.
(6) Attempt to hide the status bar in this window again by repeatedly
selecting View->Status Bar. Note that nothing happens to the status bar.
(7) Repeat steps 1-3
(8) This time save the file as a text file
(9) Observe that the status bar remains hidden and can be toggled
on/off repeatedly.
