Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19450
Slide numbering problem
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:34 UTC
In the attached presentation, notice that 2 slides have been numbered 36. I created the slide title "subnet problem" by using Insert -> Slide while on the slide titled "Addresses with and without subnetting". I believe this is a bug.

set to new and change the target
I can reproduce the bug. Please have a look.
I will have a look at this.
*** Issue 19451 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
The techincal cause for this bug is that the XML file contains explicitly e.g. the name "Slide 17" as name for the 16th slide. Because it is explicitly set it is not modified when a slide is inserted or deleted. In this example the insertion of a slide after the 16th slide leads to a new slide which is automatically named after is position: "Slide 17". Appart from editing the XML file manually and use "Slide <no>" as slide name there is only one cause for this bug that comes to my mind: Use a non-english Office and set the slide names to "Slide <no>". In this case the mechanism is not activated that would recognize this as a generic slide name that would be automatically adapted to inserted or deleted slides. This, of course, is also a bug. Because it is neither destructive nor very common I propose to change its target to OOo later.
I change the target and send the issue back to you.

Accepted.
Issue 19451 is duplicate to this bug. description of issue 19451: I notice that the slide numbering has messed up somewhere between slide 16 and slide 19. Slide 19 should actually have been slide 18. I don't recall if I deleted a slide between the slides that are numbered as 16 and 19.

I hade the same problem with Openoffice english version build 1.9.79 (Alfa) There were two times slide n.6, created somehow by right clicking copy/paste/delete on the slides icons; unfortunately I cancelled the slides and saved the presentation, so I don't have further infos for helping.
