Description Unknown 2003-09-10 07:28:35 UTC
I had OOo 1.1 RC2 installed as root under /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1. After the
installation I ran /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1/setup and this created my local
settings under ~/OpenOffice.org1.1

After I installed RC4, I tried to run /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/setup and got
this message on the console:
javaldx: failed to open or create directory
file:///opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/user/temp/java, error: 13

and then the main window opens, I select to Repair and then get numerous little
boxes with "XXXX could not be loaded"

The strange thing is that I tried to do /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/setup from a
different user, who never had OOo installed and I had absolutely no problems.

I tried to change the permissions of user/temp to 777, and then I didn't get the
first message, but something was already messed up in ~/OpenOffice.org1.1.0 and
it failed.

I'm back to RC2 for now.

I hope you find it, I think it would be difficult to reproduce.

Thanks,
Uri

What I have done:
- I've installed RC2 with -net in /opt as root
- I've started setup in /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1 to create the
workstation as local user in my home dir
- I've started OOo 1.1, no problem
- I've installed RC4 with -net in /opt as root
- I've started setup in /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0 to create the
workstation as local user in my home dir
- setup asked for update OOo 1.1 or installing in a new directory
- I've installed OOo 1.1.0 in a new directory
- I've started OOo 1.1.0, no problem

OK, i did a clean install of RC2 and then install of RC4, local setup + "Repair" and
everything was fine. I guess you can mark this as CLOSED. Thanks
