Description rcabane 2003-09-09 18:43:04 UTC
The online help incorrectly states the functions SHEET() and TABLE() as
equivalent (also with SHEETS() ). This is wrong, since no TABLE() function seems
to exist. Please check & correct this.
Same kind of error: the online help about MATCH() give an example relative to
the LOOKUP() function !
Below: extract of the online help.
***************************************************************************
SHEET
Returns the sheet number of a reference or a string representing a sheet name.
If you do not enter any parameters, the result is the sheet number of the
spreadsheet containing the formula.
Syntax
Table(Reference)
Reference is optional and is the reference to a cell, an area, or a table name
string.
Example
=TABLE(Table2.A1) returns 2 if Table2 is the second table in the sequence.
SHEETS
Determines the number of sheets in a reference. If you do not enter any
parameters, it returns the number of sheets in the current document.
Syntax
Tables(Reference)
Reference is the reference to a table or an area. This parameter is optional.
Example
=TABLES(Table1.A1:Table3.G12) returns 3 if Table1, Table2, and Table3 exist in
the sequence indicated.
=TABLES(Table1.A1:B12;Table3.A1:B12) returns 2.

I suggest the target as 2.0, reasonably.
But it's really easy to fix this, indeeed.

Hi robert,

as Beta 2 is absolutely outdated, I suggest that you upgrade to the
latest version which is currently OOo1.1RC4.

I've checked it there and it's fixed. I had a look on 1.1Beta 2 too,
and can't find the glitch you've described. So I have to close this
one as invalid.

Best regards

Frank

Dear Cabane,

If it is in The online help, can you provide the URL so we can check
it. if it is true, we can reopen this. but please check it again with
1.1 RC4. because many people cannot found it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
I believed I was using 1.1Beta2, in fact it's a 1.1Beta only.
Alas, I can't download RC4 by modem, it's too slow at 56K.
Just for information: how can I find the URL ?

I just checked within the supplied online help
(OOo-1.1_help_src_01.zip), namely
source/01/text/scalc/01/04060109.xml
and everything is nice there.
Consider this issue as definitively closed.
Best regards,
Robert
