Description Unknown 2003-09-09 07:39:29 UTC
As the need of my work, I inserted many images in my Speardsheet file, most of
times, I can open it and all my images can be seen correctly. But, sometimes
when I opened it, I just see a gray image box instead of original vivid
imange. Not a single file, but all my speadsheet file had this problem.

Now I feel horrible when I start to open a OpenOffice file, praying all images
still exist this time.

I'm really appreciate it if someone can help me fix this terrible bug!!!

Hi,

the containing jpg files are all corrupt. They all have only hex00
bytes in it.

As calc uses the code from draw to save such graphics, I assign this
Issue to CL for further Investgation.

Could you provide some more information on how this problem occured?
Was it a singular instance, or did you experience that more than once?
Is the file stored on a network volume? What did you do exactly before
this happened.
Reason why I'm asking is that I currently have absolutely no idea how
this could have happened. As Frank said, your image files are all
there in the document stream, only they have a content of all zeros.
We've heard problems when the temporary directory is full (or the
directory the environment variables TMP, TEMP or SAL_TMP point to),
but this usually leads to completely missing images, not ones with all
zeros.
So, please provide more info, currently I cannot help you here.

Dear Thorsten Behrens,

1. It hahhpens sometimes, not very time.
2. The file located on the user's harddisk.
3. I did the same as I do normally, no special actions and I don't
know when it will lose my images.
4. There are sufficient disk spaces left on my HD that include the
temp directory.

Hi Charles,

this issue is resolved for you? Anyway, I could not reproduce it, and
haven't heard of anything similar from anybody else. Just to have all
information complete: which locale and language do you use, for both
OOo and Windows? Very hypothic, but might be specific to that...

OS Version: Windows 2000
OOo Version: From OOo 619 to OOo 1.1

I experience the same problems with Impress. First I insert some jpg images (created
with gimp) and everything works just fine.

Suddenly all or some of the images get replaced by a gray box + icon.

Trying to reproduce the problem, it seems like the images disapear after each save
document.

I observe the same behaviour in OO0 1.1RC on both Win98 and Linux (RH9.0)
using impress.
After saving, the images disapeared, only quit and re-open was a workaround to
make them visible again.
Thorsten, you make me worried about the status of this Issue (RESOLVED).
Please confirm if that is really true.
Can deliver the file, but at my site it happens to most files.......

Arnold

Please try OOo1.1.1. From what I can extract from the bug description, it should
be fixed there (put please tell us if it's still happening for you). Some issues
related to that problem (and fixed for 1.1.1) are: 22784, 10297, 16297, 15257,
22235 and 24519.
