Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19137
Page settings button vanishes
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:25:42 UTC
The button for 'page settings' (customised toolbars) has vanished (only the words remain). More importantly, when added to the toolbar in Word Processor mode, the words “page settings” do appear, taking up a lot of space on the toolbar. Hover the “button” can’t be used in Spreadsheet mode (if added in word processor mode), & vice versa.

hi othr, can you please tell me step by step what you have done? i can not reproduce this i did the following right click on the toolbar -> customize -> toolbars - Main Toolbar in the "Available buttons"-list i opend the "Format"-list then inserted the "Page Settings"-button to the Main Toolbar in the "Buttons in use"-list i selected the "Page Settings" entry after that i opend the icon list over the the "Icon Button". i selected a icon an closed both dialogs with ok. now i had the page setting button in the toolbar and it never disappeared set to WFM
I added it to the function bar... but otherwise the same. Add it. Then try opening spreadsheet... and see if it's still there! If not, add it in spreadsheet mode and come back to the wordprocessor... and it's disappeared in WP mode... Can't have both. Other difference: icon button greyed out when adding to function bar, so couldn't do that bit of your instructions to this other toolbar. If, after adding Page settings to function bar, I also add it to "function bar (viewing mode)" I can apply button icon. And the icon is shown in the first "function bar" but is greyed out in Spreadsheet mode... so still have a problem. hi utomo, i did not set it to new yet because i just wanted to find out if this is a known issue and want to reassign it to the right Developer. if you set sth. to new, please always set a target. at least to OOo later set target to OOo later
reassigned to Liz this is an inconsistence between the office applications changed prio to P4 changed target to OOo2.0
I'll look into it.
LIz->JW: I'm not sure if this has been fixed in the meantime and I have to admit that I can't quite follow the discussion to know what is really wrong. Please be so kind and check this in the latest build. If the error is fixed, close this issue. If the error remains---and it is a string that is missing or incorrectly termed, send it back to me with a concise how-to-find for me (like you wrote on Sept 8, but updated with the details that mean it doesn't work-for-me) but retarget to "office later" (not enough time left for low prio tasks) If the error remains and it is a functionality error, add concise how-to-find and send to developer. Thanks for your help!
as talked about: waiting for the specific cws to be integrated
according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later.
Liz->JW: as discussed, "Page Format" should be used in Writer too.
description: the button for the page format has different naming in calc and writer. i talked to liz and she agrees to name the writer button also to "page format" like it is called in calc to find this button tools -> configure -> menu -> category (format) -> function (page settings) and second tools -> configure -> kayboard -> category (format) -> function (page settings). this buttons should be visible and accessible on the main toolbar for both applications. reassigned to os
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
