This is probably the crash-reporter that comes up. Are you using a
localized build of OOo?
You may attach a screenshot of the pop-up window.

Nvertheless: the attached file (.rtf) crashes OOo when trying to open
it. Kword needs some time with CPU at 100% but then manages to render
the document.
The doc contains a lot of tables (basically consists of tables).
confirming. Setting OS to all (I'm running linux), adjusting prio from
3 to 2, setting target-milestone

Steps to reproduce:
1) Try to open the attached file using File|Open
-> crash

Yes, I can reproduce the problem on 1.1 RC4 Win Xp Pro Sp1.

I also already send the error report with reference

The german window is indeed the crash-reporter. Please file anothother
report regarding this issue (crashreporter using wrong language)
Comment 9 Joost Andrae 2003-09-19 13:29:03 UTC
JA->MRU: reassigned
Comment 10 michael.ruess 2003-09-19 15:30:50 UTC
MRU->CMC: the crash should be fixed for 1.1.1.
Comment 11 caolanm 2003-09-19 16:41:09 UTC
cmc->mmaher: droghedafilterteam15 is the open 1.1.1 workspace. A fix
that simply makes this not crash is ok for the 1.1.1 workspace. If
there is a totally safe fix that makes it look good as well, go ahead.
But if there is no safe fix then either stick the unsafe stuff in the
2.0 workspace or (if no fix at all) write a seperate bug to handle the
"less critical non-crashing but still looks buggered" problem.

Comment 13 martin_maher 2003-09-25 14:26:56 UTC
Well this will stop it from crashing anyway
Comment 14 caolanm 2003-10-21 09:14:41 UTC
reopen to reassign
Comment 15 caolanm 2003-10-21 09:15:20 UTC
cmc-mru: no crash in kilkennyfilterteam14, many asserts, but no crash
which is the substantive issue
Comment 16 michael.ruess 2003-11-04 14:14:26 UTC
Checked fix in CWS kilkennyfilterteam14. Will be included in OO 2.0.
Workspace for 1.1.1 fix is to be followed soon.
Comment 17 caolanm 2003-12-03 13:52:38 UTC
cmc->mru: Seems ok in droghedafilterteam15
Comment 18 michael.ruess 2003-12-08 17:04:58 UTC
Fix also verified in CWS droghedafilterteam15 for OO 1.1.1.
Comment 19 michael.ruess 2004-01-27 14:51:52 UTC
No crash anymore in 1.1.1 build srx645m27. Closed.
