Description jasonp019 2003-09-04 16:25:34 UTC
I have a word document that contains a newsletter that didn't render correctly.
In case you would like to use it as a test-case to help debug some of the
layout issues with the MS Word format, I will attach it to this bug once I have
submitted it.

You have done a great job and I look forward to this being a complete
replacement for MS Office!

Thanks!

Hi

Thank you for reporting problems with MS-Word document filtering. I
can see that this document is not rendered correct in OO.org.
Hopefully can someone use this document to make the filters better.

On a general note, documents of this nature should be published in a
format that preserves the formatting of the document like pdf or ps.

A newsletter is normally edited only by the creator of the document.

I loaded the document in MS Word 2000, and I saw small issues with
rendering the document there also. Although not as bad as in OO.

Hello!

Thank you for taking a look at this. The reason that I am using this
source document is because I need to convert this to an HTML-based
document and I was hoping to have OO's export to HTML work for me. :-)

When I opened it up and saw the rendering issues I wanted to bring
them to your attention. Yes, normally, something like this would be
published as .pdf, but my customer wants to see HTML options as well.

Many thanks!

This is not a filtering problem. The issue is due to Writers inability
to use negative values for vertical frame/graphic positions. This is
handled by issue #8456.
