Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18998
Box placement(?) wrong when rendering of a Hebrew Word 2000 document
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:00:08 UTC
Here is a sample document which renders pretty well (a big improvement over RC1) but still there are a couple of small defects. This is on Debian Unstable with openoffice.org 1.0.99+1.1rc3-1. Attached is the document.

FME->OD: Yours, as discusseed.
OD (03.09.2003): - misplacement of 1st text box: wrong vertical position: in the current version, we don't support negative positions for to-paragraph anchored objects, but this will be addressed in the next version (OOo 2.0). wrong horizontal position: there is still a defect, but this will be addressed in the next version also. I will submit a new issue for this defect. - misplacement of 2nd and 3rd text boxes: wrong horizontal position: this is already fixed in SRC680m4 - new 4th text box: this text box is anchor at the paragraph be before the table and isn't visible in MS Word, because it's positioned below the first page. This object becomes visible in the writer on the next page, because objects in the writer will follow the text flow and such an object doesn't allow text/tables below the anchor paragraph to be positioned before it. Thus, the table is also placed on the next page. This will also be addressed in the next version.
.
OD (03.09.2003): depends on 17567 - negative vertical position depends on 19008 - wrong horizontal position in RTL-layout.
Created attachment 9511 [details] Another document which I think demonstrates the problem (images on pages 6 and 7)
is this bug related/a dup of issue #15718?
moving to proper component
OD->Shoshannah Forbes (09.10.2003): This issue isn't related to issue #15718. Issue #15718 descibes a general difference of frame/graphic positioning between MS Word and OpenOffice - in RTL layout MS Word measures the position from left and OpenOffice measures the position from right. This issue - as described above - describes a general layout issue (negative position, issue #17567) and a small defect inside the MS Word filter (issue #19008).
issue #i17567 is provided in internal cws swobjpos02
OD->MRU: Checked in internal installation set of swobjpos02 - please verify
Checked fix with CWS swobjpos2.
Verified. Fix will be available in OO 2.0.
Checked with OO 2.0 build 680m35. Closed.
