Description Unknown 2003-09-01 16:45:10 UTC
When I cut and paste an MS Word document into Open Office 1.1 RC3, the line
spacing is different.

Using single line spacing (Times New Roman, 12pt) in MS Word, 10 lines of text
will fit into 2 vertical inches of the page.

Using the same settings in OO RC3, 10 lines of text requires 2.75 vertical inches.

This means that the paragraph/line formatting from MSWord to OO RC3 is not
preserved.

In practice, 1 page of text in MSWord becomes 1.5 pages of text in OO RC3 due to
difference in single line spacing.

In OO 2.0, OO Writer will also offer line spacings as they are
available in MS Word. This will improve interoperability much. Should
be implemented for the first preview of OO 2.0.

Already implemented in current OO 2.0 build 680m38 and newer.
