Description hgunz 2003-08-29 19:05:24 UTC
Periodically, lines appear on the display, horizontally from the top of the text
window and then vertically down to the bottom of the screen perhaps a centimetre
or so outside the main window, over-writing the toolbar. They persist until an
application window, including OO, is dragged over them. This fault has been
evident in all versions of 1.1.

i can not reproduce this on my systems.

can you tell me your vga adapter and the version of the drivers?
Comment 2 hgunz 2003-09-17 01:57:56 UTC
I can't reproduce it on all my machines, either. The one giving the
trouble has an ATI RAGE 128 4X AGP 4X adapter, driver version 5.0.80.

hello hgunz,
just some more questions. does this error disapear if you minimize and
then remaximize the office window or does it disappear if you press
ctrl-shift-r?
have you tested it with the latest office release?

Hi Jack

I'm beginning to think that it's a display driver problem. I upgraded
the driver and, so far, it hasn't happened again. Of course, as soon
as I've filed this report it'll probably start again :) I'm using the
latest office release.

hello hgunz,
just to be clear
does your last post mean the error reoccurs while you have written it
or does it now work for you?

My apologies -- I didn't see your question dated 2003-09-22. Just to
be clear: Since installing the latest display driver for my PC, the
issue here has not re-occurred. So my tentative conclusion -- that the
driver was the problem -- is correct, and you're right to close the
issue.
