Description magrawal 2003-08-28 17:31:29 UTC
When I am in Drawing view in Impress, I am unable to scroll between slides by
rolling the mouse wheel. I think this is a serious user-interface handicap. I
often like to roll between the slides to check their contents and the sequence
of thoughts in neighboring slides while editing presentations. Scrolling between
slides by rolling the mouse wheel is the most intuitive way to do this. In the
current version, I have to do the following to move between slides during
editing:

Slide view -> select slide -> Drawing view -> Edit slide -> Slide view -> select
next slide -> Drawing view -> Edit slide and so on.

All these clicks hurt the chain of thought. It should be possible to use the
mouse wheel to roll between slides while never leaving Drawing view.

I know I can move between slides using the page up and down arrows.
But the mouse should be usable this way too.

An example would be the way users can scroll through pdf files in
Acrobat. When there is more content on he page, scrolling the mouse
moves users within the page. When there is no more content on the page
to scroll, the view moves to the next page. Impress should do the same
with slides.
