Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18753
On Windows Me, templates not available from network directory added to Templates path
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
On all three of our Windows Me machines, I opened the File->Options dialog, and selected Paths, in the OpenOffice.org section. I edited the Templates path and added a network directory to the two standard directories already in the Templates path. When I went to Writer's File->New->Templates and Documents, the templates in the network directory were not listed in the Default folder. As a workaround, I am able to import templates from a network directory, but I want to have the templates for all users automatically update whenever I change one of them, without having to reimport them to the users' machines. This problem did not occur in Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Pro.

I will have a look at this problem and check it´s behaviour.
Hi pharder, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org... Sorry for delay... Does the problem occure anymore using a newer version of OOo?
Wonderful! The problem has gone away. I'm not really clear on whether the machine I tried it on has been updated since I reported the problem with v1.1, but I note that with v1.1.0, the problem now does not occur. I am absolutely certain that it was there when I reported it, and I am equally sure that it vanished when I tried it recently. The only thing that I can think of that has (probably) changed in the interim is the operating system I'm running on the server where I've got all my template files installed. I was using Windows XP for that server, and now I've moved it to FreeBSD with Samba. It's quite possible that the problem was a Microsoft thing, not an OOo thing.
