After reading the Q concept, here are my comments. 
This is based on my trial with OO about one week and read the Q concept. 
Maybe some of them already in the future list, or can be done in 1.1 or 1.2, 
etc.

1. It is good concept, but I think mostly already in the MS Office 2000, Xp, 
or 2003. Yes, some of them are new and good. So keep improving. 
2. Please reduce the cycle from 18 month to 12 or less (9 month maybe) which I 
believe is possible, if not (18 month) again we will loosing good timing to 
compete with MS Office. Many of the MS competitor facing this problem I think. 
B. Make good time schedule, for each part and general. So each programmer can 
have good guidance and target. Using this we can see that some features/jobs 
is really big and need longer time, but small jobs no need to wait for long 
time (if the developer didnÂ’t finish at the target [or ask long time for small 
things]we can ask them, or maybe sorry, change it . And also if some part need 
another to be finish it before it can be started, we can know it and make good 
priority, etc. 
3. Another barrier for people moving to OO is if they have many documents 
already in MS Office and it contains Macro(which is not simple sometimes). 
People will not move if they need to convert the macro manually. Better if we 
have function to import the macro, so can run on OO, or we can support that 
macro. 4. Filter to open PDF File. And other option for PDF file, example 
password to edit, bookmark and content linking, etc. protection to copy, 
print, etc the file. 5. Integrated to the OCR software, such as Omnipage, so 
we can directly send the OCR output to OO and process it. 6. Play film in 
Impress with many option, such as display size, play control: play, pause, 
stop, etc. 
7. For Text: Free table drawing tools, and ability to resize the height of the 
table. Now we can resize the width but not with the height. 
8. Website redesign, so people will be able to use it more easier and can find 
something more easier. 
Some example the search function, if we search unicows it will not find 
anything. For issuzilla, better if default selection is remember what is our 
configuration, example if we are using PC, Win Xp, 1.1 Rc2, ETC. and if 
somebody close our issue but that is not true, we cannot do anything only 
creating new issue. This is not critical, but make people feel better 8. 
Better documentation for user and developer  
9. Consider to hire more programmer from third country but good, such as 
India, Russia, ETC for some part which can be done remotely, or make the 
existing programmer more efficient. This can reduce the cost but can make the 
project faster. Also maybe you can also consider to have bidding system, where 
people/company can bid for some project, and you can decide it to develop it 
or outsource it. 
I know it is not opensource standard, but maybe you can consider it, in my 
opinion many people will be more active if they also can get some money for 
their time and effort. 
10. Consider to make the updating easier and standard, maybe using patch 
system ? Which also smaller to download (this is important in the area where 
Internet connection still expensive/slow 11. Calc limit, consider 128.000 
instead of 65536. so we didnÂ’t need to facing the problem in near future. To 
upgrade it again. 
12. Impress: add text effect, example to make text more easier to read in many 
situation. Such as black text with white border (with custom color and custom 
thickness, and for all font), this can be easier to read if the background is 
image/multicolor 13. Consider  option OFFing the compatibility with MS 
Office/Others. When we didnÂ’t need compatibility with MS Office (if we never 
use MS documents, If we never share with MS Office user, ETC) why we need to 
keep the compatibility, this can make the documents full of garbage because we 
try to make it compatible. And also the file size will become more efficient. 
Also make OO more faster if we didnÂ’t need it/activate it. B. Add option so 
User can easily configure which file type is supported, or no need. If we 
never open the Word perfect doc, why we need to isntall/activate this filter. 
This probably can make OO faster & also people will be able to use it more 
easier, example when they want to open file, no need to scroll many times to 
find the file type, etc. But it must be able to smart detect if the file we 
want to open is not yet activated it will ask user to install it/activated 
that filter.  
14. Consider also to add many other small tools, such as calculator, free 
ruller, magnifier, ETC 15. please reconsider if you want to change the 
toolbar, etc, so the OO and SO user will not confusing and become newbie 
again. 
16. Public FTP for sharing files if somebody have documents which is not 
compatible, so user can upload it easily (if they didnÂ’t have website/server 
to upload it), and other user can access it easily. This FTP also we can use 
to share template, and other files which is can make OO more better. 
17. make the q concept more complete, and start it immediately. 

Hope this ugly comment little bit contributing for future OO/SO. If something 
not clear yet, please ask me. Sorry for my bad English and my bad comment.
