Description pplwong 2003-08-20 21:39:33 UTC
The "Indent in first row of paragraph" style disappeared from the style menu in
RC3 (I'm using CHinese build, so I don't really know what the style is really
called in English, but the above quote is the meaning of the style name.

This style is quite commonly used. I hope we can have this style back soon.

The screenshot is what I'm talking about. There was an option to
indent on the first line of a paragraph. But the choice doesn't exist
in RC3. (English build should have the same problem).
Comment 5 rblackeagle 2003-08-30 22:41:45 UTC
I've got it in the English version.
Comment 6 pplwong 2003-08-31 00:12:06 UTC
Ok, then it's not in zh-tw version. I tried every one of them. Many of
them are either:

1) Indent the whole paragraph
2) Indent the first row, and indent the other rows (i.e. 2nd, 3rd,
etc) in the paragraph EVEN MORE
3) No indent

That's all the 3 main types I saw in the zh-tw one.

um... It's strange.. to my understanding... the zh-tw is the same as
the English version EXCEPT the GUI text....

Hi, the style should be "first line indent" in English build. People
can't find the right one on Chinese build.

We uses this a lot. So it'll affect a lot of documents. I hope this
can get fix by 1.1

MRU->ES: you are the owner of the auto w_stylist test. HDE told me,
that it might have stumbled over the chinese version. Please check, if
the "first line indent" style is missing there.

I have installed English 1.03-2 on a mandrake Linux. It works fine. so
I created a test document (avaiable on
http://www.cs.uh.edu/~kcting/blog/docs/opencontent/linux/openoffice/11bug/1stindent/styletest.sxw)
using this style in 1.0.3. The style disappears and becomes "text body
indent" when opening it on the Chinese 1.1rc on either a Chiense
win98SE (screenshot on
http://www.cs.uh.edu/~kcting/blog/docs/opencontent/linux/11bug/1stindent/openoffice/styletestscreenshot.jpg),
or a English win2000 with default language set on Traiditional
Chinese, although if I opened the content.xml style sheet inside the
zipped .sxw file, the style file did show the "first line indent" tag
as I want. I recall it works fine in older Chiense verion on windows.
I bet this is something wrong during the translation of name space in
the code of 1.1cr. something like misinterpret "first line indent" to
"text body indent," Because I noticed that the translation of "first
line indent" and "txet body indent" are switching in OOo 1.03 zh-tw
under mandrake 9.1.

Hi, Is there anyone following this issue currently?
Comment 13 eric.savary 2003-12-17 17:40:01 UTC
ES->HB:
As discussed: I set the target to OOo 1.1.1 to accelerate the analyze of the
effort/risk (if fixed or not)/real importance.
Feel free to retarget.
Comment 14 openoffice 2003-12-19 16:47:07 UTC
This a translation error:

STR_POOLCOLL_TEXT_IDENT ("First line indent") and STR_POOLCOLL_TEXT_MOVE ("Text
body indent") have the same translation for chinese simplified.
Comment 15 pavel 2004-01-09 22:15:47 UTC
@translation: could you please fix this issue? It is one simple string.
Comment 16 translation 2004-02-04 13:31:05 UTC
Found the affected strings in the database. Tomorrow I will have the
confirmation about the terminology to use and will make the changes directly in
the database
Comment 17 pplwong 2004-02-04 14:02:56 UTC
Thanks.
May we know where the file is? (simply wondering where it is).

Also, can you guys build the 1.1 build with this fix so that we can do our final
test and announce the 1.1 chinese build?

Thanks!!
Comment 18 translation 2004-02-05 14:49:38 UTC
We do not work in files, but directly in the internal database with the source
strings.
As for the builds please contact the responsible contacts.

This has been fixed in SRX 645.

For Zh the following terms have been used:
First line indent
正文缩进
Text body indent
正文行首缩进

For Zhtw the following terms have been used:
First line indent
內文首行縮排
Text body indent
內文縮排
