Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18462
mirror printing - partial printing
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:16 UTC
I'll be very thankfull to you, if you add in the next edition, mirror printing (or flip orizontal) in the text writer. The option of mirror printing can add in the new edition of your excellent program, in the sector of "export to PDF". The program pdf995 already have this option. Additionally, if you can, you can add in the printing session something that Acrobat Reader has: The printing of every sector of the page that the user want. So, a page with size 35X50 cm can print in 4 pieces in an A4 printer. Than you. George Kafetzis Egaleo Newspaper The Kertezi Newspaper Drimea Newspaper Greece
SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for consideration.
The second suggestion maybe is more useful for people. I dont know it is already exist or not
feature 1) (mirrored printing) can be useful for creating overhead-transparencies or "stickers"...
please only sumbit one suggestion for one issue number. so it can be taken care easily
Issue 13483 was already created for mirror effect for pdf export. But was not accepted yet. Which issue should be closed ? Issue 13483 or Issue 18462 (this one) ?
There are two wishes in this issue. There is already the issue 13483 for "mirror printing for PDF export". So, for this issue, the content of Summary should be changed into "partial printing". If accepted, don't forget to set to NEW the issue 13483.
*** Issue 13483 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
I suggest keeping this one since already confirmed. But I reassign to gsl (and set QA-contact accordingly but keep assigned-to) since this feature will be useful for the other components as well (printing and pdf-export is part of gsl-project)... And I set the target milestone back to not determined since not set by the developers.... Thank you for finding that dupe..
Thank you very much for your interest. I believe that if OpenOffice Writer programmers can add partial printing with mirror printing -we can call these together "dtp printing"- that's the best for them who want to print monochrome or two colors newspaper pages. The mirror printing in pdf export is the best for them who want professional full color printing with separations. Forgive me for my bad English). I still hope to see the feature of printing writer documents horizontally flipped. It is needed to print on transparent sheets (for overhead projectors) with inkjet printers. So the unprinted side can point upwards, can get marked with non-permanent markers and washed off for next use.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
