Firefly has made his own patch to OOo 1.1RC3. Look at here.

The main purpose of these patches is to simulate fake bold and italic style 
when displaying and printing for CJK fonts.

And, OOo cannot support fonts in TTC format well. It can only use the first 
font within TTC.

When fallback XFree, the width of Alphabet glyph becomes as much as Chinese 
characters. That was too wide, as Chinese characters take two times width of 
ascii characters.
