Hi,

you can check this issue with attached document "dok_06101_test2.sxw"

1. open the attached document "test2" created with 1.1RC1 German version with
   1.1RC3
expected: should look like attached "dok_06101_test2_rc11.pdf"
   actual: looks like attached "dok_06101_test2_11RC3DE.pdf"

You can try to mark the whole page with mousepointer and select another
"underline-border": no effect!

You can mark one line with mousepointer and select another "underline-border":
border will be shown.

I checked with 1.1RC3 german version WIN98SE: 645m15(Build8669) [CWS:ooo11rc3]

If you create a new document, insert some <ENTER>, mark several lines
and create left and right borders, every line of the document will get
the border.

If you try to create border at top and bottom for the same area with
the same lines, only the first line will get a top-border and only the
last one a bottom-border.

Another new effect:
When I set the curser by mousepointer into a document line with
"underline-border" and pressed "Return", I got a new line in the
document with "underline-border".

If I try the same with 1.1RC1, always only the last line will show the
border.

For me this all makes RC3 completely unusable.

OD->RainerBielefeld (19.08.2003):
For the current version we corrected the algorithm, which merges the
borders of paragraphs, which have the same border attributes. Thus,
two paragraphs (following each other), which have both the same bottom
border and no other border will now merge their borders. This explains
the behavior You described.

Considering documents, like the ones You have created, which have used
the incorrect working 'paragraph border merge' algorithm, we decided
to introduce a correspoding attribute at the paragraph and at the
paragraph styles, by which the user can control, if the 'paragraph
border merge' algorithm is performed or not. But, because this means a
change of the user interface, we can do this not until OOo 2.0.

But, there exists a workaround in the current version:
create Your document new in RC3 and apply built-in paragraph style
'horizontal line' or a paragraph style derived from this one to
paragraphs, for which the 'paragraph border merge' algorithm should
not be performed. For paragraphs belonging to the style 'horizontal
line' the 'paragraph border merge' algorithm isn't performed.

I will attach Your document using with workaround.

Hi,

thanks for your workaround - I am able to use it, but unfortunately I
do not understand how it works. Horizontal lines are a simple
workaround for me.

So I confirm WFM
