We have two features in Spreadsheet which are immensely useful one is optimal
column width and another is optimal row width.  

Can we also have optimal font size so if a user selects this the font size
changes so as to show the entire content in the given column.

A function like 'optimal font size' requires the ability of scalable
text. That is not planned for OO.o 2.0. But you could of course write
a general feature request for Office later (and component 'framework',
because it concerns all applications) for the ability of scalable
text. Thank you.

Hello Edward, good news. This feature will be implemented in OO.0 2.0
(via gradually estimation of the fontsize). Please have a look at the
specification at.
http://specs.openoffice.org/calc/compatibility/shrinktofit.sxw.
