Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18278
Different header/footer numbering style per document.

Currently the word pro only supports a single numbering type. If you change it, all number change. It is necessary for multiple types when typing documents that have pre-amble pages.
HI->MRU: As I know we support this, isn't it.
At the moment different Outline numberings are not supported by OpenOffice. MRU->AMA: For the future, I do not think, that we can not abstain from this feature. This will also be a large step in Interoperability.
It's possible to use "normal" numbering instead of outline numbering. So if you want 1. Chapter 2. Chapter 3. Chapter A. Addendum B. Addendum You should use outline numbering for 1.,2.,3. and "normal" numbering for A. and B. So I don't see a large step of improvement, the import should work with the current implementation. Do you have a bugdoc, which is not imported correct?
It was a misunderstanding. Here is, what I got from the user: ---- There is a misunderstanding here. The reply below indicates a numbering scheme for outlines/table of contents. The problem I'm facing is with page numbers in headers/footers. If there is a preface/executive summary, these pages need to be in roman numerals. When I switch the numbering system over to arabic numerals for the body of the report, all numbers change to arabic, including the ones in the preface. ----- This is of course possible in Writer (I also replied it to the user), so I close the issue as "works for me".
Closed.
