Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18274
RC3 creates a ~/.kde on Solaris
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:51 UTC
RC3 creates a ~/.kde directory on my Solaris box during installation. Solaris doesn't use KDE at all. There is absolutely no reason why OOo should create a ~/.kde directory and populate it with 97 files that are never going to get used.
Hi, Actually not true. You can compile KDE for your Solaris machgine and up until last week when I got rid of my last Solaris box, I did have KDE running on it. That is why I enabled KDE under all UNIX. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean others don't (I did!) ;-) I do think KDE can be disabled under an OOo custom install for Solaris. If not, I think we can add that feature for 1.1.1. Kevin
Any idea why this should be a P1 issue?
The same here, so confirmed.
Hi, I checked it a Custom Install does allow you to disable KDE. So I can't see the bug here. In my opinion this should be changed to INVALID. You **can** run KDE on Solaris and some people do (I did) so installing it is good if you use KDE. If you don't use KDE under Solaris, simply disable it during custom install. Where is the bug? Kevin
I stand corrected. I did not know that KDE ran on Solaris.
I agree to Kevin.
