Description pauldv 2003-08-14 19:45:44 UTC
If you have toolbox windows open in draw (like the alignment toolbox) Then have
a picture with elements that are overlapped by this toolbox and you scroll up
and down, the redrawing of the elements gets ofsetted. This could be the same
bug as the reports about hint windows in writer, but I'm not sure. I did not
confirm this with rc3 yet, but it also exists in rc(1)

Set to new.
Comment 2 wolframgarten 2003-08-18 14:10:52 UTC
This is also visible on windows. It gets quite disturbing when you
have two of these docking windows open, one at the top and one at the
bottom of your doc. When scrolling the picture in the back the
complete space between these two windows is poorly repainted.
Reassinged to Christian, please have a look if there can be done
something. Thanks!

pauldv, can You please tell me clearly: Do You mean there is a real
repaint-error or are You talking about the flickering while scrolling?
Thanks in advance.
Comment 6 pauldv 2003-09-18 19:36:16 UTC
No it is really a redraw issue. I've been on holiday so I don't know
whether it still holds with the latest release. Basically what happens
is that I open a window in draw, I scroll horizontally in such a way
that part of my picture will be below the toolbox. Then I click on a
toolbox button on the tools bar (left of the screen), for example the
allignment tool. Then I use my mouse to drag the scrollbar up and
down. In most cases I will now have created an artifact.
Comment 7 Armin Le Grand 2003-09-19 11:26:42 UTC
AW->WG: It's an redraw error, not the flickering. Please try to
reproduce the redraw error.
Comment 8 wolframgarten 2003-09-23 14:08:49 UTC
Do the artifacts stay visible after you stop dragging the scrolbar? I
can only reproduce a short white flickering. It occurs where the
picture has to be redrawn because the toolbox "went over it", by
dragging the scrollbar.
Comment 9 pauldv 2003-09-23 14:20:34 UTC
Yes, they stay visible after stopping. It looks like an of by one error.

Argh, the stupid screenshot program forced a redraw. I'll make another
screenshot

Comment 15 Armin Le Grand 2003-09-24 14:35:37 UTC
AW->WG: Please try to reproduce. It may be a window handler problem or
a graphics driver problem. We had no such reports up to now, so it is
necessary to find out if this is caused by a component at pauldv.
AW->pauldv: Can You try on another window manager, another X and maybe
another graphics card driver? We cannot reproduce here up to now.

Sorry, still not reproducible. So I close this one here, but feel free
to reopen it if you have further information. Thanks for your help.
