Description robert.kinsella 2003-08-11 18:03:26 UTC
OO.org 1.1 rc3

There are different items being made available to the user, dependent on what OS
they are using.

On Solaris:- On Windows:- On Linux(kde):-
OO.org Not Available Not Available
Writer Text Writer
Calc Spreadsheet Calc
Math Not Available Math
Draw Draw Draw
Impress Presentation Impress
Setup Not Available Not Available
Printer Not Available Printer
Not Available From Template Template
Not Available Open Document Not Available
Not Available HTML Web

There are two issues here.
1. All Start menus should offer the user the same functiobality, e.g. , maths,
setup etc. should be available on windows

2. Why are there differences in 'names' between OS's ie. why call it spreadsheet
on Unix and Calc on windows ??.

I see this as an enhancement, nothing we should fix last minute on 1.1
without advice from product management -> ft.
Comment 2 falko.tesch 2003-10-01 16:10:33 UTC
FT->OF: Can you please verify if this is still the case with 1.1.0?
Please provide a list (like the one above) with all entries and send
this issue to MMP@openoffice.org.
thx.

That's what we have for Final 1.1.0:
Windows:
Start | Programme | OpenOffice1.1.0 | Drawing, FromTemplate, HTML
Document, Open Document, Presentation, Spreadsheet, TextDocument

Linux Gnome:
Office | More Office Applications | OpenOffice 1.1.0 Draw, ~From
Template, ~Writer/Web, ~Impress, ~Calc, ~Writer, ~Printer Administration

Solaris CDE:
Gull Icon in CDE bar, start Writer application, fly out menu has:
Openoffice.org, OpenOffice.org_Writer, ~_Calc, ~_Math, ~_Draw,
~_Impress, OpenOffice.org Setup, ~ Printer Administartion

this one is related to Q-PCD EaseOfUse-57 (i20337) The Start/Launch
menus will be alligned (if it makes sense). We will promote the names
of the modules, so e.g. "Spreadsheet" will be replaced with
"OIpenOffice.org Calc" on all platforms.
Comment 5 matthias.mueller-prove 2004-02-20 16:15:52 UTC
changed target to Office later

.
Comment 7 matthias.mueller-prove 2004-06-15 11:54:18 UTC
OOo's Start/Launch menu items will conform to each platform. For wording
consistency see the specification
