Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18114
fraction format forces whole number component
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:15:02 UTC
This problem may be related to other settings that don't stick, or it may be that calc is "too intelligent" to allow fractions with denumerator > denominator. This is what's the matter: I want a column of superparticular fractions. To get them, you delete the # character from the format code of fractions and leave only the ? in a number as required for accuracy. Clicking on the green tick should save this setting as a custom format. However, with the file saved, exited and reopened, there is no format without # to be found, and the column is shown with whole number and denumerator < denominator. Even if everybody else considers superparticulars odd, useless, medieval of whatever, user formats should stick if they can be defined in the first place. Detected in 1.01, verified in RC2.
