Description Unknown 2001-10-06 07:46:56 UTC
I start up OpenOffice.org, cancel out of the Address Data Source Autopilot,
select New -> Spreadsheet. I then type a letter and then a space. As soon as I
type the space, a dialog box pops up saying:

An unrecoverable error has occurred.

All modified files have been saved and can
probably be recoved at program restart.

When I click OK, OpenOffice.org closes.

The output from the command line is:

sh: /usr/sbin/lpc: No such file or directory
sh: lpc: command not found
sh: lpstat: command not found
Aborted

(The first three lines are printed as soon as the program starts up; the last
when it shuts down.)

Hi Alexander,
did it happen one time or is it reproduceble?
When the issue is reproduceble please edit the bug again and add give
an indepth overview about your linux environment, e.g. distribution,
kernel, glibc and so on. Is your linux non-english localized?

My Linux configuration:

More or less stock RedHat 7.1
Kernel version 2.4.3-12
glibc 2.2.2
XFree86 4.0.3-5
AfterStep 1.8.8-3
standard (English) localization

The problem was reproducible with my initial installation; however,
uninstalling and reinstalling seems to have fixed the problem. As far
as I can remember, I didn't change any selections in the installation
process except for the target directory.

In light of the above, this bug can probably be resolved as either
FIXED or WORKSFORME.

Hi,
i agree. Could even be a non OOo related issue e.g. that for some
reasons one of the libraries has been corruptly copied to your disk.
We keep on watching anyway.
Regards, Peter
