Description utomo99 2003-08-09 07:49:15 UTC
Now when we install open office at the progress 0-100% we wait and just see
the progress and empty page. I think better if we fill this empty page with
more useful information. Maybe about open office, welcome message or tips and
trick.
Beside more nicer it also can add more info about open office to the new user

I think this will be obsolet with the new installer for 2.0.

Reply:
NO, OOo v1.1 user will find it is useful. and we can use that text
in 2.0 with some modification. and from 1.1 to 2.0 it is long time,
many people will use 1.1 before 2.0 coming
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2003-08-26 08:54:40 UTC
For 1.1 we won't make changes in the gui. We have kicked out the the
setup cinema to speed up the installation. Everytime the background
slide changes setup paused. For 2.0 it's planed to use native
installers, and e.g. rpms don't show pics.

add oooqa, and target 2.0

so people can have more info about OOo when they installing, and not
wasting their time, just by watching the progress
Comment 5 Olaf Felka 2003-09-22 08:47:07 UTC
I don't see that there will be an animated setup gui for OOo 2.0. We
change to native installers like rpms.
Comment 6 utomo99 2004-04-19 07:52:31 UTC
I did not know the OOo native installer yet. but what I want still the same.
so when we install OOo we can give user some informations when waiting for the
install process, and not just looking at the blank page with progress bar
only.
if this already included in new installer spec, mark this as duplicate of
other issue.
Thanks

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
