Description Frank Schönheit 2003-08-08 10:05:51 UTC
* open a new text document
* insert a Text Box control
* open the property brwowser for this control
* switch "Multi Line" to "Yes"
* switch "Horizontal Scrollbar" to "No"
* switch "Manual Line Break" to "Yes"
* enter the alive mode for the form
* enter some text in the control
=> Note that the text is automatically wrapped when the end of the control is
reached - isn't this what "Manual Line Break" = "Yes" is expected to prevent?

* enter the design mode, again
* in the property browser for the control, change "Manual Line Break" to "No",
  and "Horizontal Scrollbar" to "Yes"
* enter alive mode
* enter some text in the control
=> Note that the text is *not* wrapped at the end of the control, though this
should be the case with "Manual Line Break" = "No"

It seems the property isn't working at all, instead the "Horizontal Scrollbar"
property implements the functionality which you would expect from "Manual Line
Break".

Testing this with StarOffice 5.2 and OpenOffice.org 1.0 revealed the same
behaviour - seems this bug is in the product since ages, and nobody ever noticed
... :(

We should probably remove this property completely. Looking through
the code, it seems it really isn't used at all. Since it's
functionality is available elsewhere (with the horizontal scrollbar),
and since nobody ever complained about the property not working, I
assume we can remove it without any harm.
