To simulate:

1. Open a new Writer document.
2. Type in "This" and space
3. An auto file saving is observed
4. An error "Soffice causing MSVCRT.DLL error" appeared and causing OO closed.

I run 633 and 638 on the same PC without this problem. This problem is 
repeatable in my environment.

Is only the Writer crashing or all apps ?

I guess, that we have a problem with spell checking, can you check 
this again with disable spellchecking ?
