Description johnh123 2003-07-31 04:27:30 UTC
I read somewhere that you could dock the navigator by ctrl-dragging it to the
side of the window and releasing it. I tried that a couple times- both times
OOo crashed out- but not only that, when I tried to restart OOo, it crashed out
before it even finished loading. Both times I had to do a complete
uninstall/reinstall. I sent the trackback info in.

I get the same symptoms in linux when my window manager (kwin) is set
not to draw side and bottom window borders (to allow OSx style drop
shadow effect).

turning on borders with my window magager AND deleting the files in

~/OpenOffice.org1.1/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/

solved the problem.

I could not reproduce this with 1.1 rc 2 on Win XP.
Might it be dependent on Win XP Desktop Appearance/Theme Settings?
I use minimalist settings with a "Windows 95" visual effect.

Pending more info, I switched this over to be a Linux issue, in case
it may be more easily reproducible there.

I tried this again and I was able to dock ok. However, when undocking
I crashed out. I was able to start up OOo after that, though, so it
wasn't as bad as before. The only thing I changed is that now i'm
using the os/2 look.

I can still reproduce this on OOo 1.1 RC1 by fiddling about with
docking/undocking etc while window manager borders are off as I
described above.

I can't reproduce this issue on RC4. :-)
