Description udippel 2003-07-29 08:24:10 UTC
The crash report came up; I clicked on send and rceived the confirmation (29 Jul
2003 07:42:07 +0100). Then I could not remove the task bar or the task of
OpenOffice. Though, everything else could easily be shut down. Even a SIGSTOP /
SIGKILL didn't remove the soffice. The system froze while shutting down X
(Gnome2); with a blue screen with white stripes on top and bottom. Had to reset
the power switch.
Probably this doesn't lead to much, but at least you have the report
(udippel@uniten.edu.my) and maybe find out what's wrong ...

TM->PL: Any ideas ?
Comment 2 philipp.lohmann 2003-08-04 11:03:52 UTC
Not really. It is not possible to ignore SIGKILL (it is not even
delivered to the process), so something else was in disorder; the only
processes that cannot be killed are zombies and processes that hang in
kernel space AFAIK.

Problem wasn´t reproducible in a RC2. Please check if you`re able to
let this bug occur in a more recent version and if, reopen this issue
and give more details about the Linux version, kernel, glibc,... a
stacktrace would also be helpfull.
