document overview for quickly accessing certain parts of a document

like Paintshop Pro offers for images, but just for "text-based" files;

this can be quicker than scrolling!

I'm changing components of some issues to ui ui from framework ui; am
I right in doing so? not all: it'd be too much. Also I clarified some
types from Feature to Enhancement

SBA: In Writer, the Navigator is already a helpful tool to get an
overview (i.e. to the Headings/Outlines and certain objects).
SBA-> Lars: Maybe you should add some hints what you mean with
"certain parts of the document" to clarify.

SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for
consideration.

I have some documents containing many images and descriptive text
next to them. If I want to look up a certain part of the doc. I have
to scroll using the scrollbar currently. But I don't get a good feel
for how long I have to scroll. An "Overview" window should make
orientation easier (and also less mouse movement, as it's a smaller
window to scroll/move thumbs of pages in)

do you know PSPs overview window? (where you see a small version of
your document (OOo should show eg. for Writer documents the pages as
sequentially small pages (but so that one make out their content)
which can be scrolled thorugh and dragged and moved))

issue 6352 may solve these needs (continous zoom-mode in toolbar).

might be superfluous in the wake of the new zoom slider !
