Description Unknown 2003-07-21 23:15:16 UTC
Computer gets slower after 00o 1.1 RC is installed. I installed OOo 1.1 RC on
a Dell Optiplex (Pentium 4, 512MB). After the successful installation, the
computer runs slower. I am not sure if it is because of Java or because of OOo
quickstart, which runs on startup. After startup, MS Task Manager reports that
soffice.exe uses 55MB of memory. By the way, I haven't installed anything else
and Windows XP is pre-SP1. The Java version installed is j2re-1_4_1_03. Also,
I am not sure if this issue was appropiately assigned to this component
(installation).

Joost,
please have a look.

Please describe what's ment with slower. How did you find out? Which
tools you are using for mesurement?
Comment 3 Unknown 2003-07-22 20:37:21 UTC
No tools, it was noticeable. What I mean by slower is that the
computer has lower performance. It is not serious, but easily
perceived. Applications, like Acrobat Reader, take a little bit
longer to open and give focus than before. BTW, I was able to
replicate this issue on another Dell Optiplex, but is tolerable.
